Organic Cotton Clothing for Kids - My 12 FAVOURITE Organic Kids Clothing Brands and 3 FAVOURITE Organic/Eco Clothing Stores!
/Hello There,
I’ve spent years seeking out organic and eco-friendly clothing for my kids…. My eldest has sensitive skin, so fabric choice for her has been super important from that sense. But for me, after 15 years in the fashion industry, I came to a place where I wanted to ensure the labels I was buying from operated both ethically and sustainably. I wanted to ensure that the fabrics against my little one’s skin were pure and free from nasty chemical residues. I wanted to know that by buying a cute t’shirt for my daughter, I wasn’t inadvertently damaging the environment or creating health issues for the communities involved in making that t’shirt. I LOVE organic cotton for all these reasons and more…. and I dress my kids in it at every opportunity!!
So here they are, My 12 FAVOURITE organic kids labels and my 3 FAVOURITE organic/eco kids stores…..and YES, you can shop all of them on-line!! I hope you find some new ones to LOVE!!! Oh, and to read more about why I LOVE my Organic Cotton so much, click here.

Their clothes go up to a size 2 and Pj’s to a size 4. Gaia also do a fabulous baby wrap…they are large and a little stretchy so you can get a nice firm wrap that bubba can’t escape from so easily! · Phoenix and the Fox – Awesome, unique, unisex designs on easy to wear, practical pieces made from organic cotton. Designed and made in Australia. Great leggings and relaxed pants as well as tee’s and baby bodysuits and rompers. From a size 000 to 4. My mini LOVES her Flower Child and Jungle Boogie Pants - Every time she wears the Jungle Boogie ones, she crawls around roaring at me…She LOVES those pants! I highly recommend the Detroit pant style, I bought them a size up and have been rolling the cuff up and they look so great... I LOVE that the styling of them means she will easily get to wear them for 2 years!
· Purebaby Organic – Beautiful quality with classic styling and colours. Australian company and GOTS certified. The Purebaby range is quite extensive with sizes to fit Premi to size 3 with their Pyjama range going up to a size 6. Most of the fabrics used are cotton, but I really LOVE their cotton/wool beanies and cardigans for the cooler weather. They used to have a Pure Kids range in larger sizes that I’m personally really missing!! Bring Purekids back Purebaby!! Free shipping for Australian orders over $100.
· Baobab – Stylish and funky every day wear for babies and kids. Baobab clothes are so easy to wear with loads of basic pieces that mix and match really easily. Most of the pieces are made from GOTS certified organic cotton knit fabric, think t’shirts, tights and our perfect fav…the t’shirt dress! My youngest also has a pair of woven denim like easy jeans that she lives in. I LOVE this label as it goes up to size 10, so my big one will fit into it for a few years yet!
· Sapling Child – A great collection of gorgeous, practical and comfy cotton clothes for little ones to play in and a gorgeous baby collection too. The super cute organic knit dresses and woven skirts are my personal favourites. Sizing starts at a 000 (0-3 months) and goes up to a size 5 in some items. The size 5 makes me so SUPER HAPPY as so many organic labels stop at size 2 and 3 and my big one misses out! Sapling is another great Australian label that’s GOTS certified, so you can be assured that their gorgeous garments have been produced without the use of nasty chemicals and under fair-trade conditions too. Sapling do free shipping for orders over $100 and their new collection with Jaime King is absolutely gorgeous – Definitely check it out if you haven’t already!
· Duns Sweden – I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the loud retro-inspired prints that Duns are famous for! My eldest was given a gorgeous purple floral jumpsuit as a newborn gift and I feel in LOVE with this brand then and there. The quality is fantastic and the prints are vibrant and unique. If you like a bold print in bold colours, then Duns is for you! They are full GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified and go up into youth sizes (Size 10 to 12) too, which is awesome! The range is mostly unisex and consists of T’shirts, bodysuits, rompers, dresses, baby pants, tights, socks, and sometimes leggings and fabulously wide-brimmed hats. My two LOVE their Duns dresses and live in them through summer. In cooler weather they wear leggings/tights and long sleeve tops underneath. We are currently LOVING their new berries print! Duns are Swedish, fully GOTS certified and their shipping to Australia is super reasonable. My last order was only AUD$9.50 to ship 7 items!
· More than a Fling – This is a sub brand to Duns and is also fully GOTS certified. We are LOVING the new cat print! You can purchase from the Duns website.
· Me & Tata – Gorgeous organic cotton label for babies. Designed in Perth Australia and GOTS certified. Sizes currently go up to a size 0 in unisex bodysuits, onesies, t’shirts, pants and wraps. Me & Tata pieces make the most PERFECT newborn gift with my personal fav being the Little Bird design….So gorgeous! At the moment my kids are too big for this label, but I have been told larger sizes are coming, so they will be wearing some Me & Tata soon which is very exciting!!
· Anarkid – Great basic pieces from a 000 to a size 2. Designed in Melbourne, inspired by colour, shape, line and typography. Anarkid garments are all GOTS certified. Anarkid do not sell direct from their website, but are available at a large number of retailers around the country. Click here for their stockist list.
· Milk & Masuki – Expect bold street style with Milk & Masuki’s artist designed prints and graphics. We LOVE the dresses! Made from organic cotton fabric in sizes 0000 to 5. Based in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Free shipping on orders over $100.
· Nightie Night Lane – The loveliest nighties and PJ’s you’ll ever find! Handmade in Australia from organic cotton fabrics. Sizes 2 to 14.
· Sweet Little Souls – It’s no secret that I LOVE my organic cotton, but I also LOVE my merino wool. Merino is different to traditional wool in that each fiber has a silky outer layer, creating a super soft, fine texture that isn’t itchy. Merino wool is absorbent and can actually absorb 35% of it’s weight in water which means no clammy skin!. It’s naturally more fire retardant than other fabrics, it usually has a low burning rate and may even self-extinguish making it a perfect choice for sleeping bags and cold weather pyjamas. Like organic cotton, it’s 100% natural, renewable, biodegradable and a wonderful choice for littlies prone to eczema and sensitive skin.… I LOVE it!! Sweet Little Souls has a wonderful range of baby and kids items from newborn to size 7, including clothing, sleeping bags, all-in-ones, bodysuits, socks and tights. In winter I love layering my kids up in long sleeve merino tee’s and have a couple of great merino dresses too. Merino wool is so comfortable to wear, it allows the skin to breathe and buffers changes in temperature when they go play-crazy or when they’re sleeping and the temperature drops overnight. Apart from their 100% Merino wool items, Sweet Little Souls also makes items in 70% Merino/ 30% Fair trade Silk and 45% organic cotton/35% merino wool/ 10% fair-trade silk. They are GOTS certified too….I wish I’d found them when my big one was a newborn!!

They stock a great selection of the Swedish eco/organic brands such as Duns, Smafolk, Snails&Slugs, Alba Baby and Danefae. Customer Service is great and the shipping charge is reasonable too. This is a great shop to visit if you want to explore the Swedish organic/eco brands and buy a piece or two from different labels.
